Background: Born just before Abbas took control of the Levantine Assassins, and an infant still when his father was killed. Tazim was originally named after his father Malik but chose to take the name Tazim when he entered the Brotherhood. Malik had, after all, been branded a traitor in Abbas's Order.

Beneath Abbas's nose, Tazim waited for opportunity. He tended his father's grave beside Maria and Sef's and trained in combat and stealth alongside others still loyal to Altair in secret.

When Altair returned to Masyaf twenty years after leaving, Tazim followed him for some time until finally speaking and revealing himself to the true Mentor of the Brotherhood. Altair recognized him as Malik's son after a few moments, commenting that he had his father's eyes and spirit.

In the following days when Altair made his way up the path to the fortress of Masyaf, Tazim served as his bodyguard. He only left his side when ordered to do so during the battle between the two factions of Assassins.

Following Abbas's death, Tazim stayed at Altair's side helping rebuild the Assassins.
